The Société Béninoise d’Énergie Électrique currently relies on a paper-based application process that is slow, non-transparent, and vulnerable to corruption by agents. To address these issues, Jun Wong, a PhD candidate at the University of Chicago, partnered with Develop for Good to digitize the electricity application process. The proposed solution includes three main flows: (1) client application, (2) agent review and site inspection, and (3) manager oversight to ensure all applications are reviewed in a timely manner.
